70 Pacolet St. is a two story commercial building located in Tryon, NC. Built in 1952, this building has been an anchor in downtown Tryon for decades. Originally built to house a dress shop and other stores, the building has been home to a hair salon, a golf apparel retailer, a computer repair shop, financial advisors and an architect among others. The variety of businesses really is a testament to the versatility of the building and more importantly the location. Playing off that versatility, we immediately knew using an adaptive reuse strategy of adding a residential component to the building would not only add value to the project, but would add value to the community.
